I had intended to complete Titus 2 (focusing on verses 11-15) in today's lesson. I decided that it would be important to take a small tangent from the text to make sure that the class knows what my theological perspective is. Specifically relating to verse 11 and soteriology (the doctrine of salvation) I wanted to make sure that the class knew that I affirm the doctrines of grace - commonly called Calvinism. This "quick tangent" very rapidly took the entire class period. So, we didn't get through any of the text, but what we did was important to frame future discussions on salvation as well as to encourage dialogue and growth.

- False teachers (as mentioned at the end of chapter 1), and what the meaning of "To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure" (Titus 1:15) is in its context.
- The way that a young woman is to act as articulated in Titus 2:4-5.

Christology 099
Well, this summer, I was asked by my pastor to teach a 4 week Sunday School course on Christology. I was very aware of the gravity of the subject matter that I would be tackling, but I had a good time.
This first lesson was primarily dealing with the deity of Jesus Christ.
The second lesson was dealing more with the incarnation of Christ and a look at how we need to be careful to always believe in the biblical Jesus, and not one of our own creation.
I do not have an audio file for the third week (as of yet)...
The fourth lesson was dealing with Christ's chief work on the cross.
